| Bessie Lee's parents were James Henry Brinkley and Lena Triber. She had 1 brother and 3 sisters (Ethel May, Minnie C., George Lewis, Sara Pauline) Two infant boys died between Lewis and Sara. Bessie was born in Nashville, TN on November 16, 1890. | |
| Bert and Bessie were married on June 17, 1914 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. They lived for a short time in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Bert worked for the newspaper. They then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he was employed by Clemons Brothers, a local furniture store. Some time in the 1940s Bert opened his own furniture store. Bert and Bessie retired to Daytona Beach, Florida until Bert's death in January 26, 1960. He died of a heart attack (coronary atherosclerosis) while playing in a shuffleboard tournament. Bessie then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she lived with her daughter, Marion, until her death. | |
