Carl’s Biscuits
1 ½ cups flour
¼ tsp. Soda
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. Salt
4 Tbsp. Crisco
¾ cup buttermilk
Sift flour, soda, baking
powder, and salt together into bowl. With pastry blender, cut in Crisco until
mixture is coarse like corn meal. Add buttermilk and stir until dry ingredients
are moistened. If
necessary, add more buttermilk. Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead
gently 4-5 times.
Roll or pat dough to about ½ inch thick. Dip cutter in flour and cut biscuits.
Place on ungreased
cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minute.
