"Dolly" Phifer Treiber |
According to Pauline, Sophia Treiber's daughter, Dolly sang in the choir at the church in Lebanon in German.
Grandpa Trieber died during the War Between the States in Lebanon. Pauline said he somehow injured his leg and it was amputated in the back yard of the old homestead and he died as a result of the amputation. He had a general store in Lebanon which was cleaned out during the war by Union soldiers.
Dolly and her husband had 8 daughters, no boys. All the girls worked on the farm and all but Emma Harrington only got through the 1st or 2nd grade. Emma went to school in Nashville.
Pauline's father was from Nashville and Pauline was born there. Sophia was the only daughter who moved north.
